🔖 Care Tips

There are plants that go dormant and those that do not. Dormant types include Oxalis adenophylla, Oxalis triangularis, and Oxalis regnellii, while non-dormant types include Oxalis triangularis 'Atropurpurea' and Oxalis triangularis 'Purpurea'. In summer, remove flower stalks after blooming. Do not remove leaves until they are completely dry. If all leaves dry in summer, dig up the bulbs and store them in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place. You can also leave them in the pot. It's best to plant bulbs between September and November. After planting, water thoroughly and keep them dry for a while. Instead of watering when the soil is too dry, mist the surface soil to keep it moist.

🏝️ Habitat Conditions

This plant grows in various regions, but is mainly found in tropical areas of South America. Since each plant may have different growing conditions, be sure to check before purchasing.

🪨 Soil Mix

When planting, it's best to use well-draining soil. Generally, mix 40% potting soil, 20% bark, 20% leaf mold, 10% perlite, and 10% charcoal. However, you can adjust the ratios based on the situation and environment.

🌡️ Environment

Maintain a temperature of 15-25°C. Some plants may enter dormancy if temperatures exceed 27°C in summer. Keep humidity at 40-70%.

👀 Characteristics details

During the day, the leaves open to receive more light. At night, the leaves close.

☀️ Light

Provide your plant with sufficient light. Without enough light, the color may fade, and it might not bloom.

💧 Water

Water when the soil is dry. Bulbous plants prefer dry conditions over wet ones. Some plants go dormant in summer, so it's best to water them less or not at all during dormancy.

🌱 Propagate

Species that undergo dormancy reproduce by producing offsets during their dormant period. Species that do not undergo dormancy can be propagated by cutting a healthy stem with a sterilized tool, ensuring the cutting has at least one node. Cut the stem diagonally, dry it for 3-4 hours, and then place it in soil or water for propagation. 1. For water propagation, avoid using a transparent container. Place the stem in water, and once roots appear, add hydroponic fertilizer. When roots reach 5-7 cm, transfer the plant to soil. 2. For soil propagation, plant the cutting deeply in soil without fertilizer. After propagation, avoid exposing the plant to bright light. Gradually increase light exposure to help the plant adapt to gentle light. Maintain high humidity and keep the temperature between 20-25°C.

🪴 Repot

Species that do not go dormant should be repotted in spring and fall. Species that do go dormant should not be repotted.

💊 Fertilize

During the dormant period, do not fertilize. In the growing season, use fertilizer according to the recommended amount. For species that go dormant, it's beneficial to fertilize the bulbs after the flowers have fallen to support growth. Avoid fertilizing immediately after repotting; wait 2-4 weeks before applying fertilizer.

🌺 Flower

Species that undergo dormancy bloom from winter to spring. Species that do not undergo dormancy will continuously bloom and wither throughout the year if the environment is suitable.

😵 Toxicity

Be cautious with pets and young children as it is toxic.
